Update: Diasome Presents OPTI-2 Phase 2b Data at the ADA 86th Scientific Sessions
Demonstrates HDV™-Insulin Lispro Maintains Glycemic Control While Reducing Hypoglycemia in Adults with Type 1 Diabetes

Medscape Covers Diasome's OPTI-2 Liver-Directed Insulin Data from ADA 2026

New Phase 2b data presented at ADA 2026 suggest that Diasome's investigational liver-directed insulin may reduce the risk of hypoglycemia in people with type 1 diabetes. Diasome's hepatic-directed vesicle (HDV™)-Insulin directs a short-acting insulin, such as Lispro, preferentially to the liver, more closely mimicking how insulin reaches the liver in people without diabetes.

By directing insulin to the liver, the approach is designed to help store glucose that can be released later during periods of hypoglycemia, which investigators noted addresses a major unmet need in type 1 diabetes.

The findings come from the randomized, double-blind OPTI-2 trial of 226 adults and were presented in an oral session by lead investigator Klara Klein, MD, PhD, of the University of North Carolina.
